Sobolo, also known as spiced bissap tea is mainly sourced from dried hibiscus flower, which gives its vibrant ruby red colour. As well as its popular appeal as a beverage, hibiscus tea is clearly regarded as a health drink in many cultures. In East Africa, the infused hibiscus drink called "Sudan tea", is taken to relieve coughs.
Scientific research has shown that the dried hibiscus flower is high in calcium, niacin, riboflavin and iron. Apart from relief from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as digestive, immune system, and inflammatory problems. It helps to cure liver disease and reduces the risk of cancer. It can also speed up the metabolism and help in healthy, gradual weight loss. Hibiscus tea is rich in vitamin c, minerals and various antioxidants, while also helping in the treatment of hypertension and anxiety.

We are a manufacturer of high-quality bissap teas using 100 per cent home-grown produce. Also commonly known as "sobolo" on the streets of Ghana, our spiced bissap teas are synonymous with all the vibrant natural fruit flavours of the African continent.
